Common Sense Parenting Programme

Common Sense Parenting© (CSP) is a group based parenting program designed for parents of children aged 0 - 6 & 6 - 16 who want to improve the behaviour in their home.
The Common Sense Parenting (CSP) Programme can be helpful for every family. CSP helps parents to learn skills to encourage their children’s positive behaviour, discourage negative behaviour, and teach their children alternatives to problem behaviour.

The goals of Common Sense Parenting (CSP) are:
  • Equip parents with a straight forward method for changing their children's behaviors through teaching positive behaviors, social skills, and methods to reduce stress in crisis situations.
  • Provide parents with practical ways for improving parent-child communication and building strong family relationships

We offer two courses for two different ages groups:

  • 0 to 6 year olds
  • 6 to 16 year olds
The program runs for six weeks & each session is 2 hours (Total of six sessions). Time and day of this course varies depending on participants preference.

Parents will work from a parent manual that provides infromation on CSP skills, parenting tips, skills cards and a personal parenting plan. Parents will also recive a CSP book that will help with their learning. The cost of the course is €20.00 - this is for the manual & book and tea/coffee.

If you are interested in booking a place, please call the centre on 0719663000.

The next CSP course will be running in Spring 2021

During Covid-19 restrictions this course will be held online via Zoom. Please get in contact with Boyle FRC for more information.
